Lions Depth Chart

11:22 pm

The Detroit Lions have released their depth chart for their first preseason game this coming Friday. It looks like they’ve woken up and smelled the laziness. They put Mike Williams and Charles Rogers at the bottom of the list of wide receivers. Finally.

Coach Marinelli is not going to put up with their lazy, unfocused attitudes. The next thing they need to do is get rid of them. Then the players who have earned their places can get to play, rather than letting those nobody pot-smoking losers get first dibs at the playing time. Finally.

I’m liking the moves the Lions are making. Finally.

Fire Millen

5:59 pm

I’m looking forward to the Detroit Lions game against the Green Bay Packers tonight. It’s not because I’m hoping they’ll win. I hope they lose, but not because I’ve lost my confidence in them. That already happened a few weeks ago. It’s because I’m looking toward what’s going to happen next week.

If you didn’t happen to hear what’s been happening lately with the Lions, here’s the scoop. The Lions were supposed to have had a decent season with the players they’ve acquired, but they haven’t lived up to their expectations. A few days after an embarassing Thanksgiving game, the Lions’ head coach Steve Mariucci was fired. But most fans don’t think Mariucci was the problem with the team. Many people think it’s the team’s General Manager Matt Millen. So last week there was a fan that held up a sign saying “Fire Millen” and walked through the stands so security couldn’t catch him. Finally they did and he was kicked out of the stadium. Throughout the week, local fans have been holding up signs saying “Fire Millen” at other college and professional games in the area. It seems like every Lions fan is furious.

If the Lions lose to Green Bay tonight, they’ll have to come back to Detroit for a home game next week. This time it will be worse than just a fan holding a “Fire Millen” sign. Apparently, an Angry Fan March has been planned by a local radio station before the game. I can’t wait to see what else happens.

Fall: Fun, Football, and Hockey!

3:51 pm

This is my favorite time of the year. The leaves are getting ready to change and the temps are cooling off. Football is well underway, and hockey is about to start back up after a year hiatus! It’s time to sit back and watch some football on the weekends!

For once, I’m actually more excited about the Detroit Lions than the Michigan Wolverines this year! The last couple of years I’ve thought the Lions would have better seasons, but they always led to disappointment. This year seems different. It feels like there’s more of a buzz and more excitement with the Lions this year. I think the players have higher expectations, so they won’t settle for disappointments. At least I hope so.
