Is it the end… nah!

11:43 pm

Well, I haven’t posted here in awhile. Yeah I know, my posts have been few and far between lately. My domain and hosting plan came up for renewal recently and I seriously considered ending Fluidscreen, or at least taking it offline for a little while. Well when I found a good deal at another hosting company, I decided I’d keep the site up and running.

I just finished moving the site over today, and all is well now, except that I have not set up my photo gallery. I decided not to install the gallery just yet, as I’m looking to make some big changes on the site soon. I’m really looking forward to it, and I’m ready to get the ball rolling. So check back soon for the updates!

The Tigers Too?

11:50 pm

Don’t look now, but the Detroit Tigers are undefeated! They are 5-0, playing great in every aspect of the game. They’re not just barely winning either, they’re averaging more than 3 times as many runs than their opponents, 39-12.

The success of the Tigers joins the great seasons the Pistons and Red Wings are having. That means every Detroit team that’s playing right now is #1 in their sport!! So when does football season start?

Time to Make Time

9:32 pm

Man it seemed like no one wanted to be at work today. I don’t know if it was because of the time change this past weekend or what. I was a little tired myself, that’s for sure. It also doesn’t help that the weather got cold again. But I was happy when I got home.

After taking a little nap, I went for a drive to relax a little and enjoy the longer daylight. Now that I’m back I feel much better. For about the last year or so, taking a drive has been a good way for me to relieve stress. I forget about whatever’s on my mind and enjoy the scenery on some quiet roads. It’s amazing how much better it is than trying to relax in front of the TV or computer!

It also made me think that I’ve gotten away from doing other relaxing things that I used to do, like drawing, biking, and fishing. And even though I never really got seriously into it, I’d like to get into photography. It’s always been a goal of mine, but I’ve seemed to keep myself “too busy” to take the time to enjoy it. Sometimes you have to tell yourself to slow down so you can make time for the things you really like. Besides, a good hobby is the best way to relax and get away from it all!

Zehnders’ Snowfest 2006

1:48 pm

It was Snowfest time again a few days ago. A lot of people showed up, even though the weather was a little warm for the sculptures. This year Derek and I carved with his friend Jeremy, who he went to high school with. This was Jeremy’s first time ever seeing snow sculptures in person, let alone his first time carving. We carved a momma polar bear sliding down a hill looking back up at her baby cub. Everything turned out pretty nice, but we didn’t end up placing.

Fox 53 from Pittsburgh came to Snowfest, probably to do a little story while they’re in Detroit for the Super Bowl. They taped some of us while we were working on our sculptures. According to Jeremy, they were taping us for awhile, but I didn’t notice. Hopefully I didn’t do anything stupid!

I didn’t take any pictures myself, but you can check out our sculpture and the rest of the pictures in Zehnder’s Snowfest gallery.
