Multitasking

10:54 pm

Computers these days can handle so many things at once—from instant messaging to email to web browsing to playing games to writing papers. You might be saying to yourself, “It really doesn’t take much for computers to handle those apps!” You’re right, it doesn’t. But that’s not my point… I’m talking about people, they’re developing into multitasking machines! Take a look at how you use your computer. You might browse the web to look for information about a paper you’re writing, while chatting with your friends and checking your email. And to add to that you could be doing other things that have nothing to do with your computer. Maybe you’re watching TV. Maybe you’re talking to someone, eating, or listening to music. That’s a lot to handle—a lot to keep track of! No wonder they say people have short attention spans these days!

maybe we could develop a system to handle our “fun” tasks, such as write reports, projects, etc. That way we would be able to focus on even more “multitasking”

You know, I always new I had more of a problem than regular nerdness.
It’s kind of funny actually… Just the other day I had somebody ask me how I “learned” to speed read. First off, didn’t really know I did until that moment. I tried explaining that you don’t HAVE to read every word, just the important ones. If I would have known about my diagnosis sooner, I would have told him that you had to have the pre-req of NADD satisfied to understand.
